City & Guilds 10 Day Carpentry Course £900 inc vat This 10 day carpentry course is ideal if you are wanting to start a career in carpentry and eventually move on to gain your NVQ level 2 in Site Carpentry. No pevious experience in carpentry is necassary. The City & Guilds qualification gained from this course is excellent evidence for when you complete your NVQ.
The two City & Guilds units that will be completed on the course are:
C&G (level 1) - 6218 Unit 101 (Developing Site Carpentry skills)
C&G (level 1) - 6218 Unit 105 (Developing Partitioning skills)
Once both the above units are completed then you will be awarded the below qualification:
City & Guilds 6218-02 Level 1 Award in Basic Construction Skills and the award will state you have completed the above units (developing site carpentry skills & developing partitioning skills)
A brief course overview of topics covered in the 10 days:
- Build a stud partition wall with a doorway
- Hang a door including fitting of locks
- Fitting of skirting and mouldings with external and internal corners
- Scribing jonts to fit mouldings and skirting
- Site carpentry operations included in second fixings
- Resources required to fix mouldings
- Fixing mouldings
- Terms used in partitioning
- Resources required to carry out partitioning
- Produce and assemble studwork partition
