NVQ Experienced Worker Practical Assessment (EWPA)
The NVQ EWPA is a route enabling an experienced worker of 5 years or more to achieve their NVQ level 2 in their relevent trade through practical assesment.
By using your skills acquired over the years to complete a task in our NVQ centre (approx 1 to 2 days) which is then assessed followed by a professional discussion with an NVQ Assessor it is possible to achieve the required NVQ level 2 needed to gain access to site work.
YTA is an approved CAA (Construction Awards Alliance) and City & Guilds centre and can help experienced tradespersons gain the NVQ Level 2 qualification which they have previously not had the time or the opportunity to obtain.
There are many tradespersons working within the industry without an NVQ who are competent in their skills but have never been formally assessed in order to gain their NVQ.
EWPA - Experienced Worker Practical Assessment is available as a fast track qualification option which we can help you obtain in just two days at YTA.
We have all of the required assessment procedures in place, the staff, the facilities and the support and guidance to help you obtain your NVQ level 2, a requirement for any construction site worker since January 2010.
Candidate Criteria
The criteria for all EWPA candidates include:
- Experienced in your trade
- Having sufficient experience of the your trade for the NVQ so that planning your working day, problem solving and decision making and working to deadlines etc are a usual day-to-day activity
- An ability to cope with the demands of a practical assessment process
- An ability to work safely at all times
- An ability to discuss your work activities with others
IF NOT HAVING YOUR LEVEL 2 IS A MAJOR FACTOR IN YOU BEING UNEMPLOYED OR HAVING TO SIGN ON,YOU MAY BE ABLE TO OBTAIN FUNDING BY THE DWP THROUGH YOUR ADVISOR AT YOUR LOCAL JOBCENTRE.
