EDI Level 1 Weekend Plumbing Course (4 days)

This course is run over two weekends (4 days)

Course times 9.00am to 4.00pm

This plumbing course is a Level 1 National Award in Practical Plumbing Skills through the awarding body EDI.

The plumbing course is suitable for tilers, plasterers, joiners, kitchen fitters etc or enthusiastic DIY'ers who wish to undertake simple plumbing tasks from changing taps, plumbing in a kitchen sink including a washing machine to a full bathroom replacements including fitting of radiators. In the current climate the tradesperson who can do the whole job gets the job.

This plumbing course is aimed to give you enough skills to develop your expertise to a career in plumbing as many of our former plumbing candidates have or just to give you the confidence to take on everyday DIY projects around the house

Our 5 day plumbing course will provide you with a great insight and understanding of the plumbing trade whether you are a total beginner or have some previous plumbing experience.

Course Content

Plumbing Course

Working with and using 15mm and 22mm copper pipe and fixings - Fitting isolation valves - Pipe bending

Fitting of tap connectors including flexi - WC assembly including all internal fittings - Fault finding and repair - Bathroom taps and wastes fitted and explained.

Plumbing in a complete bathroom and water testing under pressure !! 

Fitting of Kitchen taps and waste - Strip down a kitchen tap, repair washer and re-test - Plumbing in a kitchen sink with hot and cold outlets for a washing machine, then water test everything under pressure.

Fitting of radiators - Fault finding and repair - Working with plastic pipe and copper together - Plumbing up and filling up until under full pressure -

THEN.... under pressure and full of water, change a radiator and valve !!

Showers, talk on fitting various models of showers and the correct fitting procedure. If time allows (with some of the quicker students) we may even fit a shower like on the 5 day course.
