We are an accredited private training centre specialising in adult construction training and assessments. Our purpose built training centre and a courses focus on the individual training needs. We have flexible training programmes to fit in with just about every possible working scenario.
Testimonials:
We take pride in everything we do at YTA from our non-accredited training courses right through to qualification based courses and assessments. Our past students also think so with and average of 5 out of 5 from over a 100 reviews from the independent review website www.reviews.co.uk
Facilities, Staff and Class Sizes:
Our trainers will be focused on your individual training needs and this can only happen with small class sizes. We have specialist built training bays / areas for each individual trade so you can gain the maximum benefit from the course. We only have 5 students maximum per instructor with the plumbing course the only exception with 8 students.
All our staff work full time and are fully qualified and experienced in their trade. Our staff also have the relevant teaching and assessing qualifications.
Intensive hands on Courses:
All our courses are ‘hands on’ intensive training courses backed up by workshop based talks a couple of feet from your training bay rather than spending hours in the classroom making notes. We will use the classroom for some more technical aspects but at least 95% of the course will be taught in the workshop. We use various whiteboards near your work area to explain certain aspects, backed up by practical demonstrations by your instructor and then letting you get stuck in with the instructor overlooking.
We have compiled a sort of manual per trade for referring back to which is packed full of all the notes you would have taken during the course showing diagrams and technical aspects so you may refer back to after the course should you need to.
All our courses are aimed at ‘real life’ scenarios such as plumbing in a bathroom or plastering a large wall to get you up to speed to enter the trade.
Multi-skill Centre:
YTA is accredited to deliver a wide variety of training courses and qualifications which all go hand in hand with one another. The construction trade has evolved over the years that many tradesmen will cover more jobs than just their own. This helps obtain more work especially in scenarios like bathrooms for instance where a tiler, plasterer, plumber and carpenter / joiner are needed a 4 week course could cover the basics of all the skills. Many tradesmen are multi-skilling themselves so they can either keep to project time frames without having to wait for other trades or creating more lines of income.
Qualifications
The majority of our courses are now accredited by CITB (Construction Industry Training Board). The CITB run the CSCS card system for construction sites across the UK. The 10 day courses with NOCN Cskills level 1 accreditations are the ideal way to start building your portfolio and prepare for the NVQ level 2 further in your career. The NOCN Cskills NVQ level 2 qualifications will gain you the BLUE CSCS card and be classed as a fully skilled worker in your trade.
