Our 10-day Level 1 carpentry and joinery course comprises a total of five NOCN Cskills Level 1 units – namely health and safety in construction trades; communicating effectively in construction trades; constructing wooden joints; fitting architrave and skirting; and fitting ironmongery to an internal door.
The successful completion of all five assessments will entitle you to the NOCN Cskills Level 1 Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery, which could be just the start of a long and rewarding new life as a carpenter and joiner, possibly also leading to you obtaining a Cskills NVQ Level 2 qualification in Site Carpentry.
A wide range of stages and tasks is packed into the 10 days, beginning with how to use the basic hand tools associated with the trade, right through to the construction of a stud partition wall with a doorway, the hanging of a door including the fitting of its locks, the fitting of skirting and mouldings with external and internal corners, and so much more.
