The 2 Day Floor Tiling Course is a specialist practical course covering the knowledge and techniques needed to prepare, set out and tile a floor successfully.

Floor tiling presents different challenges from wall tiling. The finished surface must be level, secure, accurately planned and capable of coping with regular foot traffic. Poor preparation or setting out can leave you with cracked tiles, uneven edges, awkward cuts or a floor that simply does not look right.

Over two focused training days, you will work with professional tools and materials while learning about surface preparation, self-levelling, tile types, adhesives, grouts, floor setting out, complex cuts and the principles of electric under-tile heating.

You do not need any previous tiling experience. The course is suitable for complete beginners, DIY renovators and existing tradespeople who want to improve or add floor tiling to their practical skills.

How the Two Training Days May Be Structured

Day One: Preparation, Setting Out and Starting the Floor

You will then plan the floor layout, prepare the working area and begin laying tiles using appropriate tools and techniques.

Day Two: Complex Cuts, Completion and Finishing

You will continue tiling the floor, working through straight, curved and more complex cuts around typical obstructions.

The course can then progress into completing, grouting and reviewing the finished area, alongside the basic under-tile-heating overview and any remaining questions.

Two days provide considerably more time than a short taster session to concentrate specifically on floor-tiling techniques.
