YTA Training’s multi-skill courses give you practical ways to get started and keep developing. Choose from homeowner DIY training, an introduction to three trades, bathroom fitting, or longer programmes covering several trades in depth.
Our courses run from five days to nine weeks at our training centre in Bradford, West Yorkshire. You learn through practical workshop tasks, using tools and materials with instructor guidance.

First Home DIY & Maintenance Course
5 days | £750 including VAT
For homeowners who want to feel more confident tackling everyday jobs around the house, whether it is their first home or somewhere they have lived for years.
Practise tasks such as fitting blinds, curtain poles and shelves, assembling furniture, adjusting fittings and carrying out small repairs.
Your goal: feel more capable looking after your own home.

5 Day Multi-Skill Course
5 days in total | £750 including VAT
Choose three trades from plumbing, tiling, plastering, and carpentry and joinery. Your five training days are shared across those three subjects.
Get a practical introduction to the work, build confidence with tools and discover which trades you would like to develop further.
Your goal: explore three trades in one working week.

10 Day Bathroom Fitting Course
10 days | £1,500 including VAT
Combine five days of plumbing, two days of plastering and three days of tiling for standard domestic bathroom projects.
The full plumbing week covers the skills behind bathroom fittings and associated pipework, including straightforward radiator work and moving or adding water-fed towel radiators.
Your goal: learn the plumbing and finishing skills used in standard bathroom replacements.

15 Day Multi-Skill Course
15 days | £2,250 including VAT
Choose three trades from plumbing, tiling, plastering, and carpentry and joinery. Spend five full days in each trade.
You book your chosen dates on the individual five-day course pages. Those three courses together make up your three-week programme.
Your goal: build a broader set of practical skills for renovation, maintenance or further trade training.

4 Week Multi-Skill Course
20 paid days + 5 free days under the current offer
From £3,000 including VAT | Save £750
Choose four five-day courses, two ten-day courses, or one ten-day course and two five-day courses. Build a programme around the work you want to do.
Book your paid course dates online, then contact YTA to arrange the extra week. Including kitchen fitting adds £75, making the standard package total £3,075.
Your goal: develop several trades or specialise in two, with a practical foundation for offering a wider service.

9 Week Ultimate Multi-Skill Course
45 days | £6,075 including VAT | Save £750
Complete ten days each in plumbing, tiling, plastering and carpentry and joinery, plus five days of kitchen fitting.
The offer price includes one £750 saving and the £75 kitchen-fitting supplement. With Level 1 upgrades in all four ten-day trades, the total is £7,675 including VAT.
Your goal: develop foundation and advanced skills across all five core trades for more substantial property projects or a broader service.

If you are ready to invest more time in learning, our current offer gives you a standard five-day course worth £750 free of charge when you book and pay in full for four weeks of training.
- Five standard weeks: usual combined price £3,750; offer price £3,000 including VAT.
- Five weeks including kitchen fitting: usual combined price £3,825; offer price £3,075 including VAT.
- Nine-week ultimate package: usual combined price £6,825; offer price £6,075 including VAT, with one £750 saving included.
Kitchen fitting costs £825, so there is a £75 difference compared with a standard £750 training week. If kitchen fitting is your bonus week, YTA arranges that supplement when booking it. The kitchen-inclusive totals above already include it.
The bonus week is arranged manually by YTA. Book and pay for your paid courses, then email or call with the free course and start date you want. Leave the bonus course out of your online cart.
Course weeks do not need to be consecutive. The bonus week must be taken within six months of your first course start date, subject to the full offer terms and booking instructions.
Want to Develop a Bathroom Fitting Service?
The 10 Day Bathroom Fitting Course focuses on standard bathrooms. For sloping wet room floors, decorative tiling, gravity-fed hot water systems and more involved plumbing work, consider a longer programme:
10 days plumbing + 10 days tiling + 5 days plastering free under the current offer.
Total: £3,000 including VAT for 25 training days, saving £750. This provides a wider practical foundation for bathroom replacement work. See the four-week package for the booking process.

Homeowner, Five-Day Multi-Skill and Bathroom Fitting Courses

Build Your Own Three-Week Programme
For the 15 Day Multi-Skill Course, choose three five-day trade courses. Visit each individual course page, scroll to the dates at the bottom, select your preferred available date and add the course to your cart. Check that the dates do not overlap, then pay for the three courses.
Four-Week and Nine-Week Packages: Two Booking Steps
1. Book and pay for the paid courses online.
Follow the links on your package page to the individual five-day or ten-day courses. At the bottom of each course page, choose your available dates and click Add to Cart. Check all training weeks, then open your cart and pay in full.
- Four-week package: book courses totalling 20 paid training days.
- Nine-week package: book the four ten-day trades, totalling 40 paid training days.
2. Email or call YTA to book the bonus week.
Check the available dates on the five-day course page for your chosen bonus week. Then email info@ytatraining.com or call 01274 682199 with your name, telephone number, booking details, chosen bonus course and preferred start date.
You can send the email at the same time as making your online booking, or straight after paying. YTA checks your paid booking, confirms availability and manually books the bonus week. For the nine-week package, this is the kitchen-fitting week, with the £75 supplement.
Leave the bonus week out of the cart. It is not added automatically at checkout and is booked once YTA confirms it with you.
Can You Add Level 1 to a Multi-Skill Package?
Level 1 options are available when your programme includes a full ten-day course in the individual trade. The upgrade costs £400 including VAT per eligible trade and adds formal assessments to your training.

- 10 Day Level 1 Plastering Course
- 10 Day Level 1 Carpentry and Joinery Course
The plumbing route offers a Level 1 award; tiling, plastering and carpentry offer Level 1 unit accreditation, subject to successful assessment. Completing ten days spread across several different trades does not provide the same Level 1 route as ten days in one trade.
Learn Practical Skills at YTA in Bradford
YTA has provided practical construction training since 2006. Our courses welcome adults with a range of goals and starting points, including complete beginners.
You use the tools, work with materials and practise the tasks yourself. Small groups and experienced instructors give you opportunities to ask questions and develop your technique as you work.

Which Course Should I Choose for Everyday DIY?
The First Home DIY & Maintenance Course focuses on household jobs and repairs. The 5 Day Multi-Skill Course introduces you to three selected trades across one week.
What Is the Difference Between the Five-Day and Fifteen-Day Multi-Skill Courses?
Both let you choose three of four trades. The five-day course shares one week between them. The fifteen-day course gives you a full five-day course in each trade, making three weeks in total.
Which Programme Covers All Five Core Trades?
The 9 Week Ultimate Multi-Skill Course includes ten days each in plumbing, tiling, plastering and carpentry and joinery, plus five days of kitchen fitting.
Does Every Course Include a Free Week?

Can I Choose Dates Around My Existing Job?
You can choose available dates for the individual courses that make up the longer programmes. Teaching takes place Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. Check the full dates of each course and the offer terms when planning your schedule.
Do I Need Previous Experience?
The foundation courses are suitable for beginners. Ten-day trade courses begin with the foundations and progress into more advanced work. If you want to join an advanced week separately, speak to YTA about the skills you already have.
What Certificate Will I Receive?
Standard practical courses are Non-accredited with certificate of attendance. Eligible ten-day Level 1 routes include formal assessment for the award or units described on the individual course page.
