Perhaps you want to take on more of a property renovation yourself. Perhaps you already have one practical skill and want to offer customers a wider service. Or perhaps you keep thinking about a different working future and want to start building the skills behind it.

YTA Training’s 15 Day Multi-Skill Course gives you five full days in each of three chosen trades. Choose from plumbing, tiling, plastering, and carpentry and joinery, with practical training at our centre in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

Build your own programme: choose your three trades, then book your preferred available dates at the bottom of each individual five-day course page. Together, those three courses make up your 15-day multi-skill programme.

Spend a working week getting to grips with each subject, using the tools, practising the techniques and asking questions as you go. It is a chance to build a broader range of skills and discover how they can work together on a project.

A Full Working Week in Each Trade

You choose three of our four foundation trade courses and complete the full five-day course in each subject. That gives you three weeks of training and 15 days in total.

A full week allows you to move through the core stages of that trade, from preparation and tool use to practical installations or finishing work. You have time to experience how the materials behave and develop your technique with instructor support.

For a shorter introduction, our 5 Day Multi-Skill Course divides one week between three trades. This 15-day package gives each chosen trade its own complete week.

5 Days of Plumbing

Build practical plumbing skills for domestic installations, repairs and straightforward radiator work.

  • Measure, cut and bend pipework.
  • Work with copper, plastic and different types of fittings.
  • Practise bathroom and kitchen plumbing connections.
  • Work with taps, toilets, wastes, traps and valves.
  • Install and test radiator pipework, with filling and bleeding explained.
  • Check installations for leaks and practise common repairs.

5 Days of Tiling

Work through preparation, setting out and finishing tasks in kitchen and bathroom training areas.

  • Prepare suitable surfaces and plan tile layouts.
  • Use tile cutters and work around windows, pipes and obstacles.
  • Practise kitchen and bathroom wall tiling.
  • Prepare, set out and tile a bathroom floor.
  • Develop grouting and silicone finishing skills.
  • Learn about measuring a project and preparing a quotation.

5 Days of Plastering

Develop preparation, boarding, skimming and repair skills in a practical plastering training bay.

  • Use plastering tools and prepare different backgrounds.
  • Practise fixing plasterboard.
  • Work with beads and trims.
  • Skim walls and ceilings.
  • Practise over-skimming and repair work.
  • Develop your technique through repeated practical work.

5 Days of Carpentry and Joinery

Build confidence with timber, measuring, cutting and common carpentry tasks used in homes and renovation work.

  • Use woodworking tools and make timber joints.
  • Measure, mark and cut accurately.
  • Construct studwork and a doorway.
  • Fit a door lining and hang an internal door.
  • Fit hinges, latches, locks and door furniture.
  • Practise fitting skirting and architrave.

How to Book Your Three-Week Multi-Skill Programme

  3. Plan three different training weeks. Check all three sets of dates before booking and choose weeks that do not overlap. You can select consecutive weeks or spread them out.
  4. Book each course for your chosen date. Complete the booking through each individual course page. The three five-day courses together make up your 15-day multi-skill programme.

For courses starting from October 2026, each standard five-day course costs £750 including VAT. Booking three gives you 15 days of training for £2,250 including VAT in total.

Which Combination Fits Your Plans?

Think about the work you want to understand or carry out. You can choose any three of the four trades above. For example:

  • Plumbing, tiling and plastering: develop three connected skills used in bathroom work and property renovation.
  • Carpentry, plastering and tiling: combine timber work with preparation and finishing skills.
  • Plumbing, carpentry and plastering: build a range of skills relevant to domestic maintenance and refurbishment.

If your focus is bathrooms, choosing plumbing, tiling and plastering gives you five days in each. Compared with our 10 Day Bathroom Fitting Course, you spend five days on plastering instead of two, and five days on tiling instead of three.

Who Is the 15 Day Multi-Skill Course For?

Previous experience in your chosen trades is not required. Training begins with the fundamentals, giving you the opportunity to learn by doing and ask questions while you work.

Fit Three Weeks of Training Around Your Commitments

Choose available dates for three consecutive weeks or spread the courses over separate five-day weeks. This lets you plan your training around work, family responsibilities or a renovation project.

This course gives you a practical starting point across three trades. You can build on it through further practice, suitable projects and experience alongside other tradespeople. Training also introduces measuring and quoting considerations and gives you the opportunity to discuss your next steps.

Five Weeks of Standard Training for £3,000

Prices for training starting from October 2026:

Four paid standard weeks: £3,000 including VAT.
Fifth standard week, usually £750: FREE.

Total at individual course prices: £3,750 including VAT.
Offer total: £3,000 including VAT for 25 training days.
Saving: £750 including VAT.

Compared with the £2,250 standard 15-day package, this qualifying booking gives you ten additional training days for £750 more.

You could spread your four paid weeks across different trades or focus on two ten-day trades. A bathroom-focused option is 10 days of plumbing plus 10 days of tiling, with five days of plastering free.

Kitchen fitting option: within the four-week-plus-free-week package, you can include the 5 Day Kitchen Fitting Course as a paid week or as your bonus week. Its £825 price means a £75 supplement above a standard £750 week, bringing that package to £3,075 including VAT.

Offer conditions: the four paid weeks must be paid in full at the time of booking. Training can be split over six months, and the free week must be taken within six months of your first course start date. All training takes place at YTA Training, Unit 12a, Factory Street, Dudley Hill, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD4 9NW.

You can choose any three from plumbing, tiling, plastering, and carpentry and joinery. Each chosen trade receives five full days of training.

Is this suitable for complete beginners?

Yes. You can attend without previous experience in your selected trades. You will learn through practical tasks with instructor guidance.

What are the course times and opening hours?

Courses run Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. The centre is open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.

Does the course include Level 1 qualifications?

The course status is Non-accredited with certificate of attendance. You spend five days in each chosen trade. Level 1 options require the relevant ten-day single-trade training and its assessments. Ask us about extending a selected trade if you want this option.

Do I receive a free fourth week?
