10 day bathroom fitting course (tiling, plastering and plumbing)

This Multi-Skill Bathroom Fitter course is aimed at developing skills such as tiling, plastering and plumbing so you can undertake bathroom projects.

By the end of the course you will have plastered a full bathroom including the ceiling, plumb in the bath, basin and toilet and also tile the bathroom.

For more experienced students, we might have time to tile the floor as well.

10 day day bathroom fitting course is run as the 5 day plumbing course then 2 days plastering skimming and then 3 days bathroom tiling.

The Bathroom Fitting Course is 10 Days and you will cover the following topics in plumbing, tiling and plastering:

Plumbing

• Fit Bath Taps
• Plumb in Bath, Basin and WC
• Pressure test up to full working pressure
• Work with solder, compression & plastic joints
• Work with copper and plastic pipework
• Work with flexible and solder (end feed) tap connectors
• Plumbing tools and their uses

Tiling

• Surface Preparation and Priming
• Setting out a bathroom
• Tile the bathroom wall area and possibly the floor depending on time.
• Grout a bathroom wall
• Tiling tools and their uses

Plastering

• Glue and skim plastering practice
• Plaster the bathroom walls
• Plaster the bathroom ceiling
• Work with setting plastering trims
• Plastering tools and their uses

You will also receive course information folders on all the above trades for future reference.

This Multi-Skill DIY course is aimed at enthusiastic DIY’ers wishing to learn additional skills or reassure themselves before undertaking big projects.

Past students for this course have been school or college caretakers, DIY’ers, Trades Apprentices and First Time Home owners looking for more insight possibly to undertake smaller jobs with a little more confidence or as a taster before completing our 5 and 10 days courses..

This course will give you enough knowledge in three trades to enable you to carry out basic tasks in plumbing, tiling, plastering or carpentry & joinery. Please just choose 3 out of the 4 trades.

Plumbing

• Fit Kitchen Sink Taps

• Plumb up to dishwasher/washing machine (hot & cold)
• Fit kitchen sink waste
• Fit kitchen sink trap
• Pressure test up to full working pressure

• Plumbing tools and their uses

Tiling

• Surface Preparation and Priming
• Setting out a kitchen
• Tile a kitchen

• Plaster a wall or ceiling (both if you have time)
• Work with setting plastering trims
• Plastering tools and their uses

Carpentry & Joinery

• Learn to use woodworking tools
• Create various woodworking joints
• Practice fitting hinges / door locks / latches. Time dependent on individual student.

You will also receive course information folders on all the above trades for future reference.

This Multi-Skill course is 4 weeks at YTA consisting of any combination of 4x 5 day courses either first or second week courses.
