The 3 Day Bathroom Tiling Course is an intensive, practical course focused on the techniques needed to tile a bathroom accurately and achieve a high-quality finish.

Bathrooms present some of the most challenging situations a beginner tiler is likely to face. You must work around baths, pipes, sanitaryware, corners and other obstacles while maintaining a balanced layout and protecting areas exposed to moisture.

Over three focused days, you will develop practical skills in surface preparation, bathroom setting out, adhesive application, cutting, drilling, grouting, silicone sealing, mosaics and simple waterproofing systems.

The course is suitable for complete beginners as well as plumbers, bathroom fitters and property-maintenance workers who want to add bathroom tiling to their existing skills.

Three Focused Days of Practical Training

The exact order of training may vary depending on the students attending and the practical project being completed.

Day One: Preparation, Setting Out and Starting the Project

You will be introduced to bathroom surfaces, tile types, adhesives, tools and preparation requirements. You will then begin measuring and setting out the bathroom training area before applying adhesive and positioning the first tiles.

Day Two: Tiling Around Obstacles

You will continue the practical project while developing cutting and drilling skills. This can include working around pipes, corners, bath areas and other common bathroom obstacles.

You may also begin incorporating mosaic borders or features into the design.

Day Three: Completion, Grouting and Silicone

You will work towards completing the training project and developing the finishing skills needed for grout and silicone application.

The day also provides an opportunity to review your work, ask questions and discuss suitable next steps if you want to continue developing your tiling skills.

What Can You Realistically Achieve in Three Days?

Three days provide enough time to work through a substantial bathroom-tiling project and develop useful practical skills in preparation, setting out, cutting, drilling, grouting and finishing.

This can be valuable if you are planning your own bathroom, renovating properties or adding bathroom tiling to an existing trade.

However, three days cannot turn a complete beginner into an experienced professional tiler. Working as a tiler requires continued practice, experience with different surfaces and materials, and the ability to solve problems in real properties.
