The best training school I’ve ever been to. Travelled from Scotland and its the best course I’ve ever done. Paul the plumbing teacher was outstanding 10-10 for the help and knowledge. Dave in the tiling sector and Lawrence in joinery section were really good. Helped whenever asked this Is the best company in the UK. The 5 day plumbing course is suitable for total beginners with no previous experience or tradespersons such as tilers, plasterers, joiners, kitchen fitters etc who wish to undertake plumbing tasks from changing taps, plumbing in a kitchen sink including a washing machine to full bathroom replacements including fitting of radiators in order to gain more work and income. In the current climate the tradesperson who can do the whole job to a customer tends to gets the more jobs leaving the customer without the headache of finding multiple trades to complete a home project.

This plumbing course is aimed to give you enough skills to develop your expertise to a career in plumbing as many of our former plumbing candidates have or just to give you the confidence to take on plumbing projects around the house however small or large.

Our 5 day plumbing course will provide you with a great insight and understanding of the plumbing trade whether you are a total beginner or have some previous plumbing experience.

This 5 day intensive carpentry and joinery course is ideal if you are wanting to start a career in carpentry and eventually move on to gain your NVQ level 2 in Site Carpentry. No previous experience in carpentry is necessary. We also offer a 10 day course and 10 day level 1 course in carpentry & joinery.

Three successful Carpentry NVQ’s today

We had three experienced carpenters successfully complete their Site Carpentry NVQ‘s today at YTA and we are happy to say that they all passed the 6 hour practical assessment. The Site Carpentry NVQ level 2 Diploma is gained through the EWPA (Experienced Worker Practical Assessment) if you have a minimum of 5 years experience working as Site Carpenter. We are so glad to say that we are off to a flying start following the lockdown period and all three achieved the 1 day NVQ level 2 practical assessment.

We have some new working practices in place which can be found on our COVID-19 PAGE and all went to plan, face-masks provided, social distancing and hand sanitiser stations around the centre all making the assessment process safe.

Are you an experienced Carpenter / Joiner of 5 or more years? then you can spend 1 day at our NOCN Cskills approved NVQ Centre in Yorkshire completing the wood occupations site carpentry NVQ level 2 EWPA (Experienced Worker Practical Assessment). We run this assessment on Saturday’s 7:30am until approx 4pm depending on your time. We run the assessment at our training centre in Bradford, West Yorkshire. The 1 day NVQ level 2 through EWPA costs £900 including vat, (£750 excl vat).

How do we assess during COVID-19 and keep social distancing

We have a very large assessment centre (6500 sq foot) and the EWPA requires the candidate to work on their own in a dedicated assessment area for an allocated amount of time to complete the practical assessment (between 6 and 9 hours depending on which trade). We can easily distance a maximum of 3 assessment areas within the centre 6m apart from each other. The assessor will assess at distance and when required at the end of the assessment, ask you to stand to one side so he can measure and mark your practical assessment.  So the carpentry NVQ level 2 is still running but with no more than 3 candidates per time in the building.

We really can get you your NVQ quickly

What if you need to be earning a wage again even before you’ve completed our carpentry EWPA route? Well, that’s not too much of a drama, either – you simply need to first secure your place and pay your deposit, so that we can get you registered. This will enable you to apply for and gain a temporary card lasting for a maximum of six months until you have completed the EWPA.

Fantastic YTA Tiling & Plumbing Course Video Review

Another fantastic tiling and plumbing course video review from Alex Blair. Whats Covered on the tiling course:

The 5 day tiling course will see you cover surface preparation, setting out and tiling a kitchen, bathroom and floor. You will tile around obstacles such as plugs, windows and shower pipes and complete each task by grouting and silicone sealing. You will work in your own bay for the course and look to create a professional finish.

Plumbing Course – Video Review by Darren Clarke

We have had our first plumbing course video review! Darren Clarke, a gas fitter from Liverpool attended our 10 day plumbing level 1 plumbing course and here is his mid-course review after completing the first 5 days.

Just finished 5 day of my 10 day plumbing course being a gas fitter not a plumber this course helped me massively learnt so much looking forward to the next 5 days met some great lads Graham is a top guy with plenty knowledge GREAT PLACE GREAT PEOPLE good place to learn or to get you back in to doing your own property work will be back to do my 5 days as soon as this situation calms down and will be back to do Electrician course may thanks guys

Had the best experience on the plumbing course, this is coming from a man who hasn’t attended a course in 20 years or so, so I was very nervous… Had the best tutors Graham & Lyndon who made the whole experience both enjoyable and very informative at the same time.. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to step out of their comfort zone and change direction in life I’ve learned so much these last 2 weeks thanks to all involved x

2 day kitchen worktop course review

Another 5 star review following the completion of the YTA 2 day kitchen worktop course.

My names Paul Proudman, I am so glad I chose YTA Training to do a 2 day worktop course. A really well planned and thought out course. So relaxed and great trainers who made me feel so welcome. I am definitely booking onto other courses. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

The aim of the 2 day worktop course will be to fit a worktop professionally. You will use a router and worktop jig to create the worktop ‘masons mitre’ fitment into a corner area. You will also cut out for a kitchen sink and fit the kitchen sink.
