All courses running with low student to teacher ratios and all are ‘hands on’! We have had some lovely reviews, chocolates and thank you cards too!

Excellent 5 Star Review of our 10 day level 1 plumbing course

We’ve received an excellent 5 star review of our 10 day level 1 plumbing course, 5 day tiling course and carpentry course from a recent student.

I travelled from from London to view the centre and was so impressed by the set up and the work the students were undertaking I booked myself onto the 5 day plumbing course. The course was fantastic and exceeded my expectations so much that I then booked the second week plumbing course covering domestic hot water systems. Again the centre and staff were excellent and I then booked a third week to take advantage of their ‘4 for 3’ offer so I’ve now done the tiling and carpentry courses. All staff at Yta are so friendly and helpful and I will be recommending the courses to all my friends and family. I will definitely be returning to book more courses and that seemed to be the thinking of other students also. Fantastic training centre! I wish there was an option for more than 5 stars! They deserve it.

5 Star YTA Reviews keep coming in from our 5 day intensive plumbing course with 3 brilliant reviews left recently from the course students. The YTA plumbing courses are very hands on and aimed at you leaving the course with the skills and knowledge to start completing plumbing projects. Some students leave and only want to tackle the smaller jobs to start with such as replacing a tap washer, fixing a leaky pipe or trap but others leave and jump straight into replacing bathroom suites and radiator systems. Many of our students go on to start their own plumbing businesses and then return to add more skills to their portfolio such as tiling, plastering and joinery courses to help bolster their earning potential.

I would highly recommend the courses at YTA training. I did the plumbing course and it was brilliant. I also had a look round at what the others were getting upto and all looked really impressive. The other lads said how good their courses were. I will return back to do other courses as you learn so much and it’s all hands on ( no classroom work ). As well as learning lots, it was a good laugh. Don’t hesitate to give Lyndon and the others some banter!! They love it. Thanks Lyndon for such a great week and teaching me so much in a week. Roger Stackhouse – Plumbing course 5 star review September 2018

I attended the course as a novice, now I feel confident to tackle most plumbing jobs. The course is very relaxed and well presented. There are no restrictions on supplies if you make a mistake go and help yourself to the pipe and connectors. They do not try and sell any tools but will advise on the best tools to buy. I received my certificate at the end of the course and the offer of any phone advise should I need any help on a job, what more do you want. Excellent.

 

The plumbing course runs most weeks as it is one of our most popular courses. Prices start at £90 for a 1 day plumbing taster course where you can learn how to solder or even plumb in a kitchen sink. The 5 and 10 day courses go into more detail and you will be installing bathrooms and radiator systems. We also offer a nationally accredited level 1 plumbing qualification which can help gain employment following albeit most students prefer to start working as a self employed plumber. What Does It Take To Be A Successful Bricklayer?

There are a lot of reasons to consider enrolling on one of our bricklaying courses here at YTA with a view to pursuing a career in this field – not least the potentially rich financial rewards. Indeed, according to recent research by the Federation of Master Builders, the average bricklayer and roofer in the UK commands a £42,000 salary, compared to a mere £32,000 for the typical university graduate in England.

However, you won’t succeed as a bricklayer unless you possess a thorough understanding of what the job entails, as well as the qualities to fulfil those duties to the highest standards.

What do bricklayers spend their days doing?

There are various day-to-day tasks involved in bricklaying. These range from the measurement of work areas and the setting out of the first rows of bricks or blocks, to the mixing of mortar by hand or with a mechanical mixer, and the application of mortar with a trowel as part of the process of laying bricks on top of each other.

What personal traits and skills do good bricklayers possess?

It may seem self-evident to you that a bricklayer performs these activities, but it is important to have the personal qualities required to do them well, including excellent attention to detail and a responsible attitude to safety, as well as patience due to the high level of repetition involved. Good physical strength, stamina and hand-eye coordination are similarly vital.

Prospective bricklayers must also be good at mathematics so that they can measure and mix materials correctly, in addition to being well-organised and proficient with both hand and power tools.

While no specific qualifications are required to become a bricklayer, you’ll have a distinct advantage when pursuing jobs with construction companies if you have a certain level of on-site experience and training.
