5 Star YTA Review – Level 1 Carpentry and Joinery Course

Another 5 star YTA review for our 10 day Cskills level 1 Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery course. Please read below:

I did the 10 day carpentry and joinery course and I can recommend it. There was lots learnt over the 2 weeks and it is a good starter course for access to the industry. Relaxed feel to the training centre and a good, knowledgeable instructor.

Lawrence who teaches the carpentry and joinery courses has over 35 years experience in the trade and we only ever have 4 students on the carpentry and joinery courses to ensure you will get the most out of all our courses when attending YTA. The courses run every week so you are never far away from accessing a course and learn a trade. The Cskills level 1 courses are nationally recognised qualifications and recognised within the the industry. The Cskills level 1 certificate courses are also accepted as part of the CSCS card scheme to gain a RED CSCS card if a CSCS card test has already been achieved. Once you have three years experience behind you as a carpenter or joinery then you can then apply for the NVQ level 2 in Site Carpentry or the NVQ level 2 in Bench Joinery, both of which we offer here at YTA. New 5 Star Review of YTA Training and Assessment – Cskills Level 2 NVQ in Site Carpentry EWPA

A superb recent 5 star review from Micheal Manning who has recently completed his NVQ level 2 in Site Carpentry. Micheal is an experienced carpenter and joiner that needed to gain the NVQ level 2 in Carpentry so he could gain the blue ‘skilled worker’ CSCS card. The EWPA (Experienced Worker Practical Assessment) is the quickest route to gaining the NVQ if you have over 5 years experience as a carpenter & joiner. The EWPA route for the NVQ level 2 takes just one full day at our centre and we run the assessments predominantly at weekends.

The assessment went well, the trainers and the assessors were great, they make you feel at ease and can not do enough for you, the centre itself is fully kitted out and very professional, I would recommend this company to anyone, 10 out of 10.

The EWPA is a NVQ assessment route enabling an experienced worker to achieve their NVQ level 2 in their relevant trade through a practical assessment. By using your skills acquired over the years to complete a task in our NVQ Centre (usually 1 day) which is then assessed. This qualification is the one required to attain the blue skilled worker CSCS card and gain construction site work.

We offer the EWPA route for the below trades:

NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Wall and Floor Tiling
NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying
NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry
NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Plastering

We also offer NVQ level 2 assessments for more trades through the OSAT (On Site Assessment & Training) and you must have a minimum of 3 years experience for this route of assessment.

The carpentry and joinery course runs for 10 days Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm with a maximum of 4 adult students per week. The course runs for 10 days Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm with a maximum of 4 students per week (all adults). This 10 day course is ideal if you are wanting to start a career in carpentry and joinery and eventually move on to gain your Cskills NVQ level 2 Certificate in Site Carpentry. YTA Training And Assessment Carpentry and Joinery Level 1 Certificate Course Review

I attended the YTA course for the 2 week joinery and carpentry course which I found very helpful in teaching me all the skills. The training officer (Lawrence) was really patient and knowledgeable and also put me at ease if I made a mistake. Would recommend this course and YTA.

During April we ran 5 and 10 day courses in tiling, plastering, bricklaying, kitchen fitting, plumbing, carpentry and joinery. We also did NVQ level 2 assessments on weekends to help experienced tradesmen gain their recognised qualifications to get back on site with a blue skilled worker CSCS card.
